We're not really sure. Thick Neck garlic? She just bought 2 heads of garlic at the store, divided the cloves and shoved them in the ground. That's what we got. Do that in Oct. and you'll harvest the next summer.
Dig it up, Darryl. Let it dry, store it in a cool, dry place and plant it this fall. What can happen? If it's good stuff, you win. If it isn't, you aren't out anything, since it was free. What I have here is likely a hard-neck porcelain variety, but I can't be sure. This is the easiest thing I've ever grown. For serious.
